Section 8 Project-Based Voucher Program
About Project-Based Vouchers
The Section 8 Project-Based Voucher program provides a monthly rental subsidy for low-income households, with rent typically 30 percent of adjusted monthly household income. The Project-Based Voucher program differs from the tenant-based Housing Choice Voucher program in that the rental subsidy is tied to the housing development, or to a unit within the development.
Application Process
The GRHC is currently accepting new applicants to developments supported through this program.
Please note that there are currently waiting lists for all GRHC-owned project-based developments and we are currently accepting new applicants for senior developments only.
Voucher Portability
After one year of occupancy in a project-based unit, if the tenant adheres to all lease requirements, the household is eligible for tenant-based assistance through the Housing Choice Voucher program or other tenant-based assistance program.
GRHC-Owned Developments
The GRHC administers Project-Based vouchers at several of our agency-owned housing developments:

Partner-Owned Developments
The GRHC administers a limited number of Project-Based Vouchers that support low-income households renting at partner-operated affordable housing developments; application is through the GRHC.
