Resident Services Specialist (Social Worker)

Starting annual salary: $48,533 - $51,488, plus benefits

Job Overview

The Resident Services Specialist is responsible for planning, program outcomes, advocacy, community collaboration, fundraising, outreach, locating grant funding and other potential funding sources, and performing a variety of professional and technical tasks in assessment of participant needs. This position also coordinates support services provides for our participants and monitors the provision of program services.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements Resident Services Delivery Model in planning programs and services. Collaborates and coordinates resources that will enable clients to access services to promote independence, safety, security, self-sufficiency and wellness.
  • Assists residents in completing and submitting forms for housing and services.
  • Assesses clients’ ability to acquire skills or behaviors and/or acquire services in order to remain or gain enough independence to reside in affordable housing. Performs preliminary and initial assessments with new residents.
  • Familiarizes residents with the availability of services, application procedures and client rights; provides advocacy and makes recommendations for acceptance or non-acceptance of various services.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • Four years of bachelor-level experience in social work, psychology or closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to meet and deal tactfully and effectively with sensitive situations and with the public.
  • Knowledge of HUD rules and regulations, Landlord-Tenant Law, OSHA Standards, local and state building codes and laws and Fair Housing laws that apply to housing management.
  • Advanced computer/software and analytical skills.
  • Abiity to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
