Affordable Housing for West Michigan

Who We Are

The Grand Rapids Housing Commission (GRHC) administers affordable housing programs that serve low-income households in Kent County and Ottawa County, Michigan. Funded primarily through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the GRHC is independently administered and is governed by a five-member board appointed by the Grand Rapids City Manager and approved by the City Commission.

The GRHC operates eight low-income housing developments and administers federal rental subsidy programs as well as a Rapid Re‑Housing program. We also partner with organizations and individuals to advocate for positive change in local social welfare policy and to offer supportive services families can use to achieve self-sufficiency and a stronger financial future.
